From September 20th to 22nd, 2017, President ZHANG Tiezhu and vice president WANG Libin led the leaders of relevant units to visit Shenzhen universities, research institutes, graduate schools, and discuss the exchange with representatives of the alumni who work in Shenzhen.
The delegation visited the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Study Research Base, Shenzhen Graduate School of Peking University, Shenzhen Institute of Tsinghua University, Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), Shenzhen Research Institute of Shandong University and they were warmly received. ZHANG Tiezhu introduced them the main purpose of school construction of Qingdao Academy of SDUT, and its preliminary conception and progress of the project. The delegation had a detailed understanding of their development process, work experiences, opportunities and challenges facing the future goals and ideas in each unit, focusing on management system and operation mechanism of their remote hosting Research Institute and Graduate Schools, the introduction of high-level personnel and its management services, building a research platform, transformation of science and technology and their market operation, their international cooperation and exchanges, research subject problems which had been conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions. ZHANG Tiezhu said that the experience and practice of all units were very worthy of learning from, and hoped to further strengthen exchanges and promote inter-school cooperation so as to achieve common development.
During the period, the delegation also participated in the forum of representatives of Shenzhen alumni, met with Niu Hongwei, Vice President of Shenzhen Graduate School of Peking University,SUN Zhongwei, Chairman of Shenzhen Huabao New Energy Co., Ltd. and other alumni representatives working in Shenzhen. ZHANG Tiezhu expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Shenzhen alumni for their support, and briefed them the reform and development of the school and the construction of the Qingdao Research Institute in recent years. He hoped that the Shenzhen alumni would continue to play a regional advantage and participate in supporting the construction of the school, and expressed good wishes for alumni. Alumni are excited and proud of the development of SDUT, and said they would create better performance in their respective jobs, and add luster to their alma mater, and play a good role as a link between Shenzhen and SDUT, and also make suggestions for alma mater development.
