On the evening of April 26th, 2018, the opening ceremony of SDUT Scientific Culture and Arts Festival (2018) and the Fifth “Poetry Festival in Spring” awards ceremony were held in the University Art Center Auditorium.
Prof. LYU Chuanyi (SDUT Party Secretary), HU Xingyu (Deputy Secretary of SDUT Party Committee), ZHANG Xiangyun, ZHA Yuxi, YI Weiming (SDUT Party Standing Committee members and Vice Presidents) and ZHANG Jinsheng (SDUT Party Standing Committee member and Discipline Committee Secretary) attended the opening ceremony, and watched the wonderful shows together with heads of various departments and colleges, and teachers and students.
HU Xingyu made an opening speech on behalf of the school party committee and school administration. He said that moral education and cultivation is the fundamental task of universities and varous school cultural activities are an effective way to strengthen and improve college students' ideological and political education and improve their overall quality. He hoped that the teachers and students of SDUT would actively participate in these various activities. He mentioned that these cultural activities would bring together a consensus of teachers and students in ideological thinking and it would be a grand opportunity to promote the school development.
Along with the passionate music and waving flags, LYU Chuanyi, HU Xingyu, ZHANG Xiangyun, ZHA Yuxi, YI Weiming, and ZHANG Jinsheng made the festival plantform started, which was a slowly dumping golden sandglass, and jointly launched this session of the festival of science and technology culture.
After the opening ceremony, the Fifth Poetry Festival in Spring awards ceremony officially began. The lights on the stage were flashing, the readers were full of emotions, and their language was powerful. In their reading, they fully deducted their patriotic, spring dreaming, with their lyrical and youthful emotions and made audiences feel enchanted.
The theme of this year's Festival of Science, Culture and Arts was “Intensive Implementation of Entrepreneurial Spirit in the Fortieth Anniversary of Reform and Opening-up”. It was organized in two quarters and carried out a total of 20 campus exquisite events covering a wide range of fields such as science, technology, culture, and art.
