Recently, the Ministry of Education issued the Ministry of Education’s Circular on the Establishment of the Construction Project of the Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of education in 2019 (Teaching Technical Letter〔2019〕No. 72). 61 universities were approved projects, including 23 local universities, such as SDUT's “CFC Free Polyurethane Foam Materials Engineering Research Center”, it was SDUT’s first engineering research center of the Ministry of Education.
Based on the construction of the School of Chemical Engineering, CFC Free Polyurethane Foam Materials Engineering Research Center would regard new CFC free polyurethane foaming agent as the core technology platform and focus on the following 5 aspects: synthesis and structure-efficiency theory of the new CFC free polyurethane foaming agent; industrialization application technology of CFC free polyurethane foam materials in plate industry; industrialization application technology of CFC free Polyurethane foam materials in the spraying industry; industrialization application technology of CFC free Polyurethane foam materials in the household appliance industry; and industrialization application technology of CFC free Polyurethane foam materials in the automotive industry. By optimizing and synthesizing environment-friendly chemical foaming agents with stable properties and low cost, the polyurethane foam industry would develop better.
The center would adopt the mode of patent + standard, give full play to the advantages of college discipline, regional industry and location, and strive to further achieve a number of original and influential innovative achievements. The center would also try to build a domestic and world advanced polyurethane foam material research center, which could cultivate cutting-edge high-tech talents, achieve fundamental, prospective and strategic breakthroughs,promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries。All of these would provide the source power for China's green development, innovation-driven development, and the transformation of new and old growth drives, and realize our pricing power and speaking right in the global polyurethane industry, break the monopoly of European and American and even conquer the global market.
