On the morning of August 20th, the new No.6 and No.7 experimental teaching buildings and No.23 and No.24 student apartments were delivered to relevant units for use after on-site acceptance. Relevant heads of Assets Management Division, Infrastructure Construction Division, Security Division, Logistic Affairs' Division, Network Information Center, Experimental Management Center, Student Apartment Management Center, School of Transportation & Vehicle Engineering, School of Agricultural Engineering& Food Science, School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, and School of International Education attended the handover ceremony.
During the ceremony, the head of the Assets Management Division introduced the construction of the new project and the room allocation scheme, expressed gratitude for the close cooperation of all departments and units, and the efforts made by the construction unit for high quality and catching up the process. Then, he made clear requirements for students’ moving in. The head of the Infrastructure Construction Division also explained the relevant information and attention points after the project was delivered.
The functional departments had made the handover with the relevant schools and departments. According to the room allocation scheme, 1st -11th floors of North Building and 5th floor of South Building of No.6 Experimental Teaching Complex Building were to be used by School of Agricultural Engineering& Food Science; 1st -4th floors of South Building of No.6 Experimental Teaching Complex Building were to be used by School of Transportation & Vehicle Engineering; 1st -8th floors of North Building and 1st -5th floors of South Building of No.7 Experimental Teaching Complex Building were to be used by School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering; 9th -11th floors of North Building of No.6 Experimental Teaching Complex Building were to be used by School-City Integration Research Institute.
It is reported that the total construction area of No.6 and No.7 Experimental Teaching Complex Building is 56396.82 square meters. The foundation was laid on July 18th, 2018, and the construction was started on August 4th, 2019. The main body of the project was completed on August 2nd, 2019, and the project was completed and accepted by the quality inspection department on June 28, 2020. No. 23 and No. 24 student apartments occupied a total construction area of 43380 square meters, which can accommodate 4004 students.
According to the heads of relevant departments, the No.6 and No.7 experimental teaching complex buildings and the No.23 and No.24 student apartments are landmark buildings with the highest standard and better construction quality in the history of the school construction. Under the condition of limited time and tremendous tasks, SDUT and the construction unit cooperated closely to overcome the influence of weather, shutdown, environmental protection and the epidemic, and achieve the expected goal.
