On November 5th, China Youth Daily announced the selection results of “the 6th Summer Practice Team Searching for Top 100 College Students in 2020”. SDUT won the honorary title of “Top 10 Practice Universities” again after last year, and was the only university selected among Shandong Province. Only 10 universities in China, including Zhejiang University, Chongqing University and Tianjin University, won the award. In addition, the “All Rises Together and Build Dreams in Jintan” practice group won the “best practice team” (only 10 in China), and the “Four Leaf Clover” summer social practice group won the “excellent practice team”.
“Summer Practice Team Searching for Top 100 College Students” was sponsored by China Youth Daily. It aimed to deeply explore and display the outstanding achievements of college students in summer social practice, give full play to the exemplary and leading role of excellent teams, further stimulate college students’ initiative in understanding national conditions and serving the society, cultivate innovative spirit, and enhance their sense of responsibility and mission. Since 2015, “Top 10 Practice Universities”, “Top 10 Practice Teams”, “Top 30 Excellent Practice Teams” and “Top 60 from 100 Practice Teams” were selected each time. Colleges and universities participated actively; thousands of teams were recommended or self-recommended by hundreds of universities participate in the selection every year.
In addition, in the summary and notification results of the 2020 “volunteer activities for the country people” which isa program under which officials, doctors, scientist and college students go to the countryside to spread scientific and literacy knowledge and offer medical service to farmers, released by the Youth Development Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, SDUT was awarded the excellent organization school of the social practice activity of “volunteer activities for the country people” in 2020 summer vacation of national college and technical secondary school student volunteer. Since 2014, SDUT had won this award for seven consecutive years.
