International Symposium on Common Human Values Co-organized by School of Marxism

On December 10th, an international symposium on “Common Values of Human Beings, Construction of a Community with a Shared Future and Development of World Socialism” was held jointly by the School of Marxism of SDUT,the School of Marxism of Zhengzhou University (ZU) and the Institute of Philosophy of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS).

The symposium was held online and offline, and the main venue was held offline at SDUT. Yang Yun, deputy secretary of Party Committee of SDUT, attended and delivered a speech. More than 100 people attended the meeting, including the head of the Social Sciences Division, members of the leadership of the School of Marxism, relevant heads of the School of Marxism of ZU and the Institute of Philosophy of the VASS, experts and scholars in relevant fields at home and abroad, and some teachers and students from the School of Marxism of ZU and SDUT, and VASS.

Yang Yun pointed out in his speech that the common value of humankind was the core content of the “community with a shared future for humankind” proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping, and that the common values of humankind and the construction of a community with a shared future were closely related to the development of world socialism. China and Vietnam have been jointly adhering to Marxism, holding high the banner of socialism, constantly striving to open new prospects for socialist development, and working together to discuss the subject of “common values of humankind, construction of a community with a shared future and the development of world socialism”, which was of great importance. He hoped that experts and scholars of the two countries could provide their knowledge and insights on this topic and constantly advance the development of world socialism in the process of promoting common values of humankind and building a community with a shared future for humankind.

At the symposium, the following professors and experts delivered brilliant keynote reports respectively: Pham Van Duc, member of the Central Theoretical Committee of Vietnam and former vice president of the VACC, Nguy?n Cai Dong, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and dean of the Institute of Philosophy of the VACC, Wang Tingyou, professor and doctoral supervisor of Renmin University of China, Du Yuhua, professor and doctoral supervisor of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Jiang Rui, professor and doctoral supervisor of Shandong University as well as executive editor in chief of “Issues of Contemporary World Socialism”, Yu Xiangdong, professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Marxism of ZU, director of the Institute of Vietnam Studies and vice president of Huanghe S & T University, Zang Haojie, researcher of the Marxist Research Institute of ZU, and Sun Min, distinguished professor, doctoral supervisor and president of the Marxist Innovation and Development Research Institute of SDUT.

Yu Xiangdong summarized the symposium from three aspects: “harvest sharing”, “expectations” and “heartfelt thanks”. Professor Liu Lyuhong, dean of the School of Marxism and doctoral supervisor of ZU, announced the closing of the meeting.
